Management Fees - Perception of Value

There is a lot of talk in our industry about fees - whether we should charge more, whether we charge too much, whether we do enough for our fees or even whether we charge for the right things.

We have our views but this article is not intended to be a debate on whether we at POD agree or otherwise with the sentiments out there.

What we want do want to do is demonstrate how much we, as managing agents, take care of for the management fee earned, what the consumer pays for that service and how that compares to other items they are likely to spend their hard earned cash on.

Good or bad, we believe managing agents provide great comfort to those living in buildings we manage compared to the value of the asset under management and the average management fee charged across the industry.

Could we do more? Of course we could, but maybe it’s time we started talking more positively about what we do, especially given it costs less than a couple of takeaway coffees a week.
